"Good then you can stay"

"Thanks." She responded in Japanese before fixing herself a glass of water. "Where's your dad?"

"They had an away game"

"Ah. Of course you would have the house to yourself when Im here."

"I always have this house to myself. Even when you aren't here."

She shrugged. "I know you're gonna hate me for asking but how's your heart?"

"Better" he lied "Finished? Want some more" he said taking her plate back to the kitchen

Deja frowned at him. "Uh yeah...sure." she said handing him her plate. She knew he was lying but she would question him about it later.

Zayn didn't want to tell her what happened and why he was out of school for awhile so he figured quickly changing the subject was working well. He came back and re-handed her back her plate

"Thank you.." she sighed lightly.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Deja said with a tight smile before looking down at her plate, toying her food with her fork. "Nothing at all."

Zayn sighed and put his plate on the table and turned and faced Deja " A little over a month ago during a game, I collapsed.I was hospitalized for about two weeks. But I'm fine now, and I get to return to school next week" he finally came out and said

Deja's head shot up at him, her jaw dropped in shock. "Oh my God! Are you okay? Why didn't you tell me?" She said in a worried but hurt tone.

"This reaction D" he said "I want you to focus on school not worry about me"

"Why not? I'll always worry about you. School is not as important as your help."

"It's more important Deja, I'm fine."

"Will you let me be concerned for two seconds, Zayn?"

"No" he answered nonchalantly

"Why not? Why is it such a crime for me to care?" Deja questioned. "I care so much about you and I can't show you how because every time I show concern you shoot me down! Why?"

"It's sweet but I don't need people feeling sorry for me"

"I'm not feeling sorry for you! I'm just being a friend. A girlfriend."

"Well don't be one of the overbearing girlfriends. It's annoying"

"I'm not trying to. I won't if you talk to me every once in a while, okay? And that's all I have to say."

"Fine the conversation is over"
