Reconciliation

The last time Kirby and Zayn spoke, it wasn't a very pleasant encounter. In fact, they hadn't spoken at all since then. Kirby had been wondering about him lately, she couldn't stay mad for very long and she didn't like to hold grudges. Begrudging other people made her lose her focus and that wasn't good for dance. Her teacher had noticed Kirby's lack of concentration and sent her home for the day. Kirby picked up her stuff in the dressing room and headed outside. Just as she walked out the door, someone had run into her and knocked her over.

"Hey! Watch...it." Kirby said before looking up to see no one other than Zayn.

Zayn was running to grab a few things from the locker room but baseball practice started, when he crashed into someone

"Geez, it was an accident!" he said

"It's fine, I guess." She said as she stood up

"Good. We're done here?" he asked

"Not exactly." She said, "I've been thinking about you lately. How are you?"

"Oh no, don't tell me you spoke to Zuri or Deja?" he said

"Well, I did talk to Zuri, but all she told me is that you weren't speaking to her. Why, what's wrong?"

"Oh nothing, just a stupid heart thing they keep bitchin' about" he shook his head "
So, wait! we aren't having this conversation because you feel sorry for me?"

"A heart thing, is it serious?" She ignored his question

"No, only mild!" he said "I think!"

"You think? No heart problem is something that should just be shrugged off as nothing."

"Kirby please, I've heard this speech one too many times"

"I'm just saying." She held her hands up in defeat

"I know, but I have it all under control"

"Okay, okay."

"Thanks for your concern though"

"Yeah, no problem."

"So why are you here in the summer anyway?"

"Dance and Gymnastics." She replied

"How long are you all practicing today?"

"They're practicing for another hour, but I'm going home early today."

"Why?"

"I'm 'distracted'." She rolled her eyes

"About what?"

"Just a bunch of stuff." she lied
